Embossed Bloom with Hope

My lovely and very talented Stampin' Up! upline, Michelle Last sent me a beautiful card this week which I have taken inspiration from to make today's card.  It's a technique I hadn't used before so it was a bit trial and error but I am really pleased with how it came out.

Bloom with Hope, Stampin Up

I heat embossed with white the flowers from the hostess set, Bloom with Hope and then used a Stampin' Up! dauber to colour in over the top of the embossing using Early Espresso ink.  It gives the whole card a 3 dimensional look.  I made a matching tag as well.

I have been messing about with my camera trying to learn what all the buttons are for so that I can take better photos - I have ended up confusing myself even more!   I WILL master simple photography & editing.....................eventually!!

Sparkling Wondrous Wreath

I wanted to make a Christmas Card in non-traditional colours and used the Wondrous Wreath stamps and Wonderful Wreath framelits from the new Autumn/Winter catalogue.  I used crumb cake, chocolate chip and very vanilla as my colour scheme and then die cut the 'JOY' and stars using a sheet of dazzling diamonds cardstock.

It's a bit hard to see the sparkly bits on the card but they are there!!

All of the products used in this card can be bought from either the new Autumn/Winter or annual catalogue.

Hope you like it!

Bloom with Hope

I made today's card using the Bloom with Hope stamps which is a hostess set from the current annual catalogue.  If you like using marker pens then you would love this set as all the stamps lend themselves to being coloured in.  Although I understand the concept of where the light and shadows should be, my colouring never turns out how it should, but I find it very relaxing and I don't think it turned out too bad?!!

The sentiment is also from a Hostess set called (oddly enough) 'Hello There'.

Sneak Preview - Wondrous Wreath

This is the first post for over a week now as my lovely dad was taken into hospital and I have been spending time with my mum and visiting him in hospital.  I am trying to remain positive and there is a long way to but he's in really good hands with all the amazing doctors and nurses at The Churchill in Oxford.  I have found that crafting takes my mind off everything that is going on at the moment and so I spent an afternoon yesterday in my craft room.

I know Christmas still seems like a long way off but the Stampin' Up! Autumn-Winter catalogue goes live in a few days time on August 28th and the 'Wondrous Wreath' stamps and Wonderful Wreath Framelits die set is one of my favourites from that catalogue

Wondrous Wreath, Stampin Up

There are three separate stamps that make up the wreath but they are a doddle to line up as they are photopolymer and the matching dies cut them out beautifully.  The sentiment is also from the same stamp set.  I've used Cherry Cobbler as the base for the card, bow and sentiment and used Whisper White cut out with the Top Note die.   The wreath was stamped using Pistachio Pudding and Wild Wasabi. I finished it off with a rhinestone on the bow

And here is another card but this time using Pool Party and Pacific Point.  The 'Joy' die cut is also from the Wonderful Wreath framelits and the silver ribbon is from the current annual catalogue.  Not sure why, but I couldn't get the colours to come out very well on the photo...it looks much prettier in real life.  It would also help if I used a tripod to keep my hand steady too!

Little Notecard Holder - Pink & Orange

Today's make is a little notecard holder.  I am hoping to hold a 'girls crafty night' soon for some friends who haven't crafted before and I will offer this as a prize at the end of the night.  The notecards are 3.75" x 3.75" and come with matching envelopes.

I have used Blushing Bride card as the base for the holder, whisper white embossed with the Decorative Dots folder (the embossing doesn't show in the photo) and then punched some flowers and a butterfly to go on top using the sentiment from 'Work of Art'.

I made some matching notecards to go inside - all with different sentiments, complete with matching envelopes lined with the gorgeous Sweet Taffy designer series paper.

I topped it off with some bling using Basic Rhinestones and tied together with some Hello Honey stitched satin ribbon.  I hope whoever wins it, likes it?!!
