Stampin' Up! Crafting Evening

On Wednesday evening, I held my first Stampin' Up! 'Crafting Class' for a group of friends - most of whom have never crafted or stamped before, so it took me a while to decide what projects to put together for them all to make.  I've never demonstrated anything before so this was a good test to see how smoothly or otherwise it would go and to get some feedback for future classes.  To be honest, I have always dreaded having to speak in public, but as they are all mates I had no fear because if it all went horribly wrong (and why would it Wendy?!!) we would all laugh about it!  But as crafting is such a passion and something I could do all day long and because I LOVE using Stampin' Up! products,  I was actually really looking forward to it........

And this is what we made..

All my friends did really well although the Gold Encore inkpad caused them a few problems....at one point the stamp we were using looked like a gold nugget as it had been bashed into the pad and absorbed most of the ink....'tap it gently' I kept telling them!

My husband made himself scarce for the evening as I think 6 giggling women was too much for him but he did bake us all an absolutely delicious lardy cake - he's brilliant when it comes to baking.  Thank you to Dawn, Caroline, Eileen, Lisa and Debs for a great evening.

I thoroughly enjoyed myself and all my friends did too and they are now asking when the next class is.....I think I need a few weeks to recover and time to order a refill for my gold inkpad!!

Have a great weekend everybody.

If you live local to Buxton in Derbyshire and would be interested in coming to a class, please get in touch.  My details are on the contact page.

Clean and Simple Thank you cards - Stampin' Up!

Have you ever had one of those moments when an occasion arises when you need to quickly send a card to someone and there isn't one in your 'emergency' stash that is suitable or, like me, you realise you haven't got a blog post organised for today?!!!  Well today's post is to show you that you can make a card in literally 5 minutes which is quicker than going down the shops to buy one - unless of course you live right next door to a stationers!!

Here are the 2 cards I made in super quick Wendy time....

Quick and easy thank you cards made using stampin up work of art

I used 3 layers of card and the Work of Art and the Watercolour Thank You stamps (oh... and the little red heart was from the Holiday Home stamp set).  They honestly took no time at all to put together and you could use any sentiment on them.

The colours are Pool Party and Calypso Coral.  Until tomorrow....

Quick Christmas Cards - Stampin' Up!

Today's post is to show you two really quick and easy Christmas cards I made last night.  I haven't made a start at all on any Christmas cards other than the ones I have shown on my blog.  I am normally so organised when it comes to Christmas and I have all my presents bought and wrapped before the end of October and all my cards written and addressed ready to go!!  This year...I am a bit behind!

I used the Holiday Home and Bright and Beautiful stamps to make these cards.  On the card on the left I stamped the moon using the centre of a stamp that is in the Chalk Talk stamp set.  It's not meant to be a stamp and is probably meant to be thrown away but I kept it thinking I might be able to use it for something.  On the card on the right, I punched out a hole in a post it note and put it on top of the card.  I used a dauber to gently dab on some Daffodil Delight ink followed by some Tangelo Twist ink to give it a 3D look.  I prefer the moon on this card.

The sentiment is from Bright and Beautiful and I stamped it in Gold and also Memento Black ink.
I used Tangelo Twist and Cherry Cobbler card to make these cards.

This card could be the one I start mass making as it was really easy and although the photo doesn't show it very well, the gold ink has a lovely shine to it.

Stampin' Up! Envelope Punch Board Gift Box

I've been playing around with my envelope punch board which does so much more than create envelopes.  Making boxes is really easy with this tool and this is one that took minutes to make.

I used a 7½" x 7½" piece of Blushing Bride card and added a strip of Strawberry Slush DSP from the In Colour 2013-2015 paper stack cut at 10½" x 2¼".  I put the card onto the envelope punch board and scored at 2¾" and 4½".  I then turned the card 90 degrees clockwise and punched and scored again matching up the previous score lines until all 4 sides are punched and scored.

The rose is punched out with a 1⅜" punch and cut in a spiral towards the centre.  The edges were sponged with Strawberry Slush ink and glue dotted to the top of the box.  The leaves were cut out from Flower Fair framelits in Old Olive card and I was going to sponge the edges with Mossy Meadow but it was getting late and I forgot!

The sentiment is from the Chalk Talk stamp set and punched out with the Extra Large Oval punch and then layered onto the Decorative Label Punch with stampin' up! dimensionals.  The box is then tied with some Blushing Bride Chevron ribbon.

Have a great day and I hope I have given someone inspiration to get crafting!  If you are interested in any of Stampin' Up!'s products and would like me to send you a catalogue then please get in touch and I will forward one onto you.

Peeking Penguins card using the Owl Builder Punch

I've made a fun Christmas card today with peeking penguins as the theme.  I made them all from Stampin' Up!'s  owl builder punch and just used the Modern Label punch for the feet.

I've used Pool Party as the card base and layered it with Whisper White.  The holes were cut out with the 1⅜ punch.  The 'JOY' was cut out using my Silhouette Cameo die cutting machine using some Moonlight DSP and I did an offset of the letters in Pool Party.  I outlined the holes with Hello Honey and Pool party using the 1⅜ punch and 1¾ scallop and circle punches.

The penguins are stuck onto the inside of the card so that you can see all of them when you open up the card.  Easy Peasey!!

Stampin' Up! Christmas Owl Gift Tag

Just a quick post today showing a Christmas gift tag I made using different Stampin' Up! punches.  I made the same tags last year for my Christmas presents but now that I have got the Scalloped Tag Topper punch they are so much quicker to make.

Christmas Gift Bag - Stampin' Up!

Am I seeing stars?........yes... another post using the Bright and Beautiful stamp set on a gift bag which is a good size at approximately 5½ inches tall by 4½ inches wide (at the top of the bag).

I've used Coastal Cabana Designer Series Paper for the bag and Bermuda Bay ink for the star.  The tab at the top was made with the Decorative Label punch folded in half and is tied together with silver ⅛ inch ribbon.

They are very easy to make and you can see a tutorial HERE.
