Curvy Keepsake Box - Batty Bat

Along with my latest stash of goodies to arrive from Stampin' Up! last week was the curvy keepsake box thinlits die which again I wasn't going to order when I first saw it but I've been persuaded since as I have seen many fantabulous creations on Pinterest.  This is my version of a bat box....

I ran out of Basic Black card so I had to use some spare slightly textured card lying around in my craft room.  I made the wings with a large oval punch and then used the ½" circle punch to create the underside of the wing.  The ears and mouth were made by using the ever so useful owl punch and then I added some googly eyes I'd purchased locally.  The tag has been stamped with the bats from the Holiday Home stamp set onto Tangelo Twist card and the tag was one that comes with the curvy keepsake box thinlits dies.

Hope you like my batty bat..x

  1. Hi Wendy! Your batty box is the cutest! Such a clever use of the owl punch for the teeth! Would you mind explaining how you attach the wings to the box? Much appreciated!

    1. Hi Brigitte, thank you for your lovely comments. I attached the wings by scoring approx. 1/8" along the edge of each wing and creasing it down really well and then used some Tombow multi-glue to stick them to the box. Does that make sense? x

  2. That makes perfect sense! Thank you for sharing your tips and tricks!

I love to get comments on my blog so thank you for taking the time to say hello! Wendy x
