Stampin' Up! Holiday Home Christmas Card

When I first looked through Stampin' Up!'s Autumn Winter Catalogue, I wasn't particularly drawn to the Holiday Home stamp and Homemade Holiday framelits dies.  However, after seeing lots of great cards made with these stamps, I saw how versatile this set could be so naturally I had to have it!!  I'd seen a card by another stampin' up demonstrator - Carolyn King which I have pretty much cased.  She does a tutorial on how to do a snowy background so I had a go.

My UPS man arrived late afternoon and so it wasn't until late evening that I managed to make this card.  The light wasn't great in my craft (daft) room and my eyes were tired (any more excuses Wendy?!) so when I was taking photos for this post I noticed that my colouring in wasn't particularly great.

I used Pacific Point and Pool Party to ink up the sky with sponges and used post-it notes as masks.  I was quite pleased with my first attempt.  I added some dazzling diamonds on the snow line and tops of the trees.  The Santa on his sleigh stamp is really easy to bend into a curve as it's made from photopolymer along with the sentiment which again I curved slightly to fit on the banner.  Actually I think I curved the sleigh too much and it looks like it's about to go into a stall!!
