Folk Art Style Birthday Card

Today's card reminds me a bit of Folk Art.  I started off with an idea in my head of what I wanted to make and it turned out totally different from what I had planned.  Does that happen to anyone else?  I wanted to make a card using Daffodil Delight as I wanted something bright to cheer up these gloomy wet days we are having at the moment.  I looked in my Stampin' Up! Color Coach to see what colours went with Daffodil Delight and Early Espresso was one of them.  I then picked up Soft Suede by mistake and actually thought that it went well with the yellow too!

I use the Color Coach quite a bit (yes I know for us in the UK it should have a 'u' inbetween the o and the r but that's how Stampin' Up! spell it).   It is so useful for those moments when you want to try some different colour combinations that maybe you hadn't thought of or aren't sure what colours go with what.  I added some red to give it some 'oomph' and a bit of bling with some rhinestones.
