Creative Blog Hop - Painted Petals

I am participating today in the Creative Blog Hop and was nominated last Monday by another SU Demonstrator, Leena Girsa.  At the bottom of the blog I have answered the 4 questions which I have to answer as part of the blog hop.

I have used the very popular Painted Petals stamp set to create today's card.

Rather than just stamping using the ink pads, I have used the re-inkers and Aqua Painters to create a watercolour effect.  I initially stamped the flowers in Blushing Bride and then used the aqua painters to give a bit of shading in Strawberry Slush.  The same with the leaves which were stamped with Wild Wasabi and painted with Old Olive re-inker.

And now for the Creative Blog Hop Q&A......

What are you working on now?

I am always thinking of what I can make next so it depends on what new items I have bought from Stampin' Up!, the time of year such as Christmas, Valentine's Day and also if I need to make a special card or gift box for family or friends.  I try to plan my blog posts at the weekends and evenings and create a whole week's worth of projects which can be very time consuming as they all need photographing & writing about but it is so satisfying once they are all done.  Just recently I have worked on invitations and favours for my niece's forthcoming wedding in April.

How does your work differ from others in your genre?

I do think it is hard to differ from other SU demonstrators as we are all selling the same products but I do try and come up with ideas that I haven't seen anywhere else and sometimes that happens completely by accident!

Why do you create what you do?

I mainly create what I do as I am a SU Demonstrator and need to showcase their amazing products on my blog but I just love spending time in my craft room as I find it so relaxing and some days I could be there for hours!  Crafting is definitely addictive but very rewarding.

How does your creative process work?

My creative process....well that is a tough one!  My ideas come from all sorts of places.  I could be watching the TV and see something that makes me think of a stamp set or I could be lying awake in bed and come up with an idea but generally I will sit down and think of a colour scheme and what items I want to use and whatever image I had in my head of what I wanted to create never turns out looking like the finished item!!

That is all for today's blog hop but for next week's Creative Blog Hop I am nominating 2 amazingly talented people.....

Emma Louise Fairley

and

Bibi Cameron

and their posts will go live on their blogs on Monday, 16th March.
