Dancing Mice Treat Box

As soon as I saw this Mouse Box cut file by Daniela Moscone in the Silhouette Store (Design ID 96559) I bought it...how cute is it?!!!

Daniela Moscone Mouse Box

The box can be opened at one end so that it can be filled with sweets or even some cheese!!

Daniela Moscone Mouse Box

The original cut file was a dancing ballerina mouse but I wanted to make a mouse with a little waistcoat so it could be used as a present for either male or female.   I opened up the svg file in Silhouette Design Studio and created a little brown waistcoat to fit the mouse.

My Favourite Things - Cool Day

I've been making some more Christmas cards over the weekend and I have used My Favourite Things Cool Day.

MFT Cool Day Christmas Card
I used some Hammered White Card from Papermill Direct as a card base and then cut another layer,  out of which I die cut a circle.  I then edged the circle with some more card which I stamped with the little leaf from Mama Elephant Arctic Penguins in SU Cherry Cobbler ink.  I coloured in the bear from Cool Day with some copics and stuck him to the base.

The sentiment is from WPlus9 Hand Lettered Holiday.  I heat embossed the 'Merry' in Cherry Cobbler embossing powder from Stampin' Up!  Using embossing powder on hammered card can be difficult because of the texture but I thought it came out surprisingly well.

Autumn Craft Challenge

I am entering today's project into Papermill Direct's Autumn Craft Challenge.  I wanted to make something a bit different and when I saw the acorn box from SVG Cuts 'Acorn Autumn kit' I knew this was it! Although it was a bit fiddly to put together and I got lots of glue all over my fingers, I love how it turned out.

Papermill Direct Autumn Craft Challenge

I first cut the acorn out using Mocha Brown Card from Papermill Direct using my Silhouette Cameo.  I added some digital paper over the base and then cut some Buff Smooth Card layers for the lid which I embossed with polka dots before sticking it down.  I sponged all the layers with brown ink to give it a bit of texture.  The leaves were cut using my Big Shot using some old Sizzix leaf dies and then attached to the lid along with some twine and a button.

Well that's all for today folks - back on Monday.  Have a great weekend.

Somewhere over a rainbow....

Today I have made another birthday card using bright rainbow colours to cheer up a gloomy & wet week here in the UK.

WPlus9 Sunshine Layers

I used WPlus9 Sunshine Layers dies to cut everything out (apart from the black card layer where I used MFT Cross Stitch Rectangles) & I coloured the word Sunshine using Copic markers.  The sentiment stamped on the clouds is from Waltzing Mouse 'Say it Loud'.

Thank you for stopping by and visiting my little blog.  Back on Friday with another card.

3rd Time Lucky!!

For today's card I have made a card to congratulate my husband's son who passed his driving test in London on his 3rd attempt.  Well done Leif.

I used my Silhouette Cameo to make this quick card and graphics and fonts from Lettering Delights.  The graphics are from Jillustrations Adventures Bundle and the fonts are LD Blankie and LD Typeset

Lettering Delights Jillustrations Adventures Bundle

I made a cut file of the graphic and then welded it to make it a shaped card so that it cut around the giraffe's head and then inside the windscreen so you could see the sky.  I was going to add some acetate as the windscreen but couldn't find it in my unusually messy craftroom!  I added the sky background to the back of the card which is also a Lettering Delights paper.  I traced around the number plate on the original file and made my own using Leif's initials to personalise the card and popped that up on some foam dimensionals.

I finally added some glossy accents to the giraffe's nose (who doesn't love a shiny nose?) and some Wink of Stella to the headlights.

Clearly Besotted - In Stitches Christmas

I am getting a head start on making my Christmas cards as I was so late and rushed last year.  I wanted to design a card that wasn't too fussy and was easy enough to make a large quantity.  So when I saw this set in the clearance sale from Clearly Besotted - 'In Stitches Christmas', I knew I had to have it as I love the stitched look on cards.  Sadly this item is no longer available.

 Clearly Besotted In Stitches Christmas

I made the base and top layer of the card by using White Linen cardstock from Paper Mill Direct, cutting the top and middle layer out with two of the dies from MFT Cross Stitch Rectangle Stax.  I die cut the Rudolph out after stamping him using ink from Stampin' Up! in Soft Suede & Real Red and Ranger Adirondack Citrus.  The sentiment was stamped in Early Espresso from SU.

I added some Glossy accents to his red nose and popped him up on some foam dimensionals.

Clearly Besotted In Stitches Christmas

I also made an envelope to match although I won't be making these for all my cards as it would be too time consuming so I shall use my stash of kraft envelopes instead.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the weekend.

Waltzing Mouse - Candy Wagon Treat Holder

Sorry this post is late - it should have gone up yesterday but I forgot what day it was!!  A sign of age creeping up on me!

Today I have made a little Candy Wagon treat holder by using a stamp set from Waltzing Mouse called Candy Wagon, surprisingly enough.

Waltzing Mouse Candy Wagon stamps

I cut the Milk Carton out using my Silhouette Cameo as well as the wagon.  I had already made a cut file for the stamp by scanning it as a .jpg and then importing it into the Silhouette software and then traced the image to get the cut lines.  I stamped the image using Melon Mambo Ink from Stampin' Up!  When I provided the link I didn't realize that Claire over at Waltzing Mouse Stamps had already provided a FREE cut file HERE which would have saved me time....

Waltzing Mouse Candy Wagon

The ribbon is Berisfords and you can buy it from Simply Ribbons.  I use this ribbon a lot on different projects and have a few different colours.  It can sometimes be hard to get hold of.

The background cactus (Rootin' Tootin' Cowboy) and clouds (Sugar Monster) are both from Lettering Delights.  The pink striped card is from Craft Creations.Com.  The sweeties are MINE!! :-)

I'll be back tomorrow with another post.

Thanks for stopping by.

Watercolour Card 2

I had another go using the watercolour look that I did on Friday's card and again used the same stamps from WPlus 9 Unforgettable.  I used different coloured inks this time, again from Stampin' Up! and an Aqua Painter to water them down.  I used Rich Razzleberry and Pacific Point.

MFT Brushstroke Birthday, WPlus 9 Unforgettable

Can you tell I LOVE this stamp set from WPLus9 Unforgettable?!!  Again I used MFT Brushstroke Birthday for the sentiment which is heat embossed in black and coloured the elephant with Copics.  I bought some glitter a couple of years ago when I visited the big craft show at the NEC and haven't used them.  So I dug them out and after sticking a strip of double sided tape down both sides poured two different colours on the strips and then pressed the glitter down with my fingers.  I was told that this glitter wouldn't stick to your hands and to be honest I don't have a glittery face...not at the moment anyway!

Watercolour Celebrate Card

My friend's daughter got engaged recently so I've made a Watercolour Celebrate card to send to her and her fiancĂ©.  I really like the look of watercolouring on cards and I am keen to start learning how so I have been watching videos by some of my favourite bloggers and thought I would give it a go.  I don't have any watercolours yet (they are on my Amazon Wish List...can I wait until Christmas?!!!) so I used some Stampin' Up! ink pads and an Aqua Painter to make this card.....

WPlus 9 Unforgettable Watercolour Card
The ink pads I used were Night of Navy, Pacific Point and Marina Mist.  I heat embossed the sentiment in black using MFT Brushstroke Birthday and then stamped and coloured in the elephants and balloon using Copic Markers using WPlus9 Unforgettable stamps and matching dies.  I added some Wink of Stella to the balloon although it doesn't show up in the photo.

WPlus 9 Unforgettable, MFT Brushstroke Birthday

I'm really pleased with how this card turned out so I can see I shall be splashing around with inks and water for some time now!!!

Have a great weekend.  It's mine and my friend's birthday tomorrow.  I've asked my hubby for a crafting tool I have had my eye on for a while now so when it arrives I shall share my first make with you (even if it's a disaster!).

September Colour Challenge - MTDS

I've never entered a crafty challenge before...I always feel a bit intimidated by all those amazingly talented crafters out there but sometimes I think I should do things that push me outside my comfort zone.  So I am taking the plunge...well dipping my toes in first!

To enter the Make the Day Special September Colour Challenge, I had to choose a minimum of 3 colours from one of the palettes given.  There were some pink shades, but I decided to use grays, black and yellows as they aren't usually colours I use when making a card.

So here is my card.....

I have used a set called Blanket Stitched Blooms by WPlus9 and Bee Mine by Lawn Fawn both of which I have had for a while

I used Copics to colour in the flowers after I had cut them out with my Big Shot using the dies that match the stamp set.  I stuck these to some black AC Card and cut around the top edge.  I then adhered this to a white card base and stamped the bee and dotted heart line & then adhered it all to some White Linen Card.  I heat embossed the sentiment in white onto black and yellow card and then mounted them using some SU Stampin' dimensionals.

Back on Friday.  Thanks for stopping by :-)

Penguins on Film!

It's the start of another week and I am already counting down to Christmas which is why I have made another Christmas Card for today's post which uses Mama Elephant Arctic Penguins stamps and matching dies.

Mama Elephant Arctic Penguins and Lettering Delights Giraffing out Loud

I cut the film strip out using an svg from Lettering Delights Giraffing Out Loud CS on my Silhouette Cameo.  I layered the black film strip onto some white cardstock and then cut some additional white squares to fit on top of the strip so that I could stamp on them first.

Mama Elephant Arctic Penguins and Lettering Delights Giraffing out Loud
I coloured in the penguins and sky with Copics and hand cut out the hat to go on top and added a bit of glitter card for the bobble....no bobbles fell off today after last Friday's scissor bobble mishap!

Finally I stamped the sentiment using WPlus9 Hand Lettered Holiday in black Memento Ink and Stampin' Up Real Red.

MFT - Cool Day

Just a quick card today that I have made for my niece's husband's birthday which is on Sunday.  We have had a lot of birthdays just lately in our family and mine is only just around the corner too!

Today's card uses My Favourite Things Cool Day stamps.

I bought this stamp set for Christmas but there was also this birthday sentiment with it and as my niece's nickname is 'bear' I thought it was very apt!!

I ran some white card through my Big Shot and embossed some large polka dots and then adhered the bear that I had coloured onto the top with dimensionals.  When I cut around the bobble on the hat it fell off (oops!) so I used a Candy Dot from Stampin' Up! instead.  I have got the matching dies for Cool Day but wanted to cut right up to the edge.  I also used some Candi Dots in yellow to match the rest of the card and added a punched out heart to the mug.

Enjoy your weekend.....

Unforgettable Birthday

Hello again.  I wasn't going to post this week as my hubby got back from his business trip yesterday but I managed to write up this post last Wednesday.  It's a birthday card I made for my niece and it is her birthday today.  It uses one of my favourite stamp companies WPlus9 and the stamp set is called Unforgettable.  I stamped the elephant and balloon in Memento Black ink and coloured them using my Copics.  The sentiment is also from the same stamp set.  The clouds and pink scallop frame are die cut from WPlus9 Sunshine Layers.

WPlus9 Unforgettable stamp set

I bought the matching dies for this set HERE about 2 weeks ago from Make the Day Special who sell stamps that are made in the US.  The stamps were out of stock at the time so being the impatient person I am I went ahead and ordered them direct from WPlus9 thinking that it wouldn't cost me much if they got caught at customs and I had to pay the fee....WRONG!!  They arrived really quickly from the US and I got the card this morning telling me I could go and collect them from the sorting office but had to pay just under £12 (£8 of that being Royal Mail's fee).  Then when I was writing up this blog today (Wednesday) I found that Make the Day Special had them back in stock...DOH!!  That'll teach me to wait next time.  Note to Self:  Patience is a virtue Wendy!

I shall be enjoying a few days off spending time with my husband who will be pooped after his hard slog abroad so until next time.....
