It's a Cinch - DIY Recipe Book

As I mentioned on my blog last month it was my birthday and on my ever growing wish list was a Cinch by WRMK.  Well my lovely husband bought it for me and I have been itching to play with it since I got it.  So this weekend I had a crafting session.

We R Memory Keepers The Cinch V2

I decided to make a Recipe Book as I have got lots of recipes written down on scraps of paper which I want to write down into one book so they don't get lost.  So this was my first make with my Cinch...

WRMK The Cinch V2 - DIY Recipe Book

I used some chipboard which I got in the sale from The Craft Superstore which was sized at 7½" x 5" and covered it in some paper I had from Stampin' Up!  I then used my Silhouette Cameo to print and cut some stickers which were printed onto Gold Foil and stuck them to the front.

I made some dividers and Recipe Cards which I designed in my Silhouette Studio software and cut them out on card and heavyweight paper.

I added a pocket at the back of the book to keep any recipes/piccies that need to go into the book.

Once it was all printed out, I used the Cinch to punch the holes in the chipboard, dividers and pages and then bound it with a white ¾" binding wire.  It was much easier than I thought it would be and the Cinch makes it a doddle to punch the holes evenly spaced.

My husband was so impressed with my recipe book he's asked me to make him a Field Notebook.  I think he's happy it was money well spent!!

My mind is now working overtime with what I can make and I am considering making myself a personal planner for when my current one runs out.  At least I can personalise it how I want.

  1. I have always wanted a binding machine....... I've looked at "Bind-it-all" and I have a binding machine that uses plastic spines. This one that you got looks so cool.................

    1. Hi Sandi, I did a LOT of research before settling on the Cinch. I know there are those who prefer the bind-it-all and have said the Cinch doesn't squeeze round O-wires but if I managed to do it then anyone can. I highly recommend it.

I love to get comments on my blog so thank you for taking the time to say hello! Wendy x
