Valentine Gift Envelope

Sometimes I find myself thinking about what I can make that involves a lovely bar of chocolate just so that I have an excuse to get one....not that I need any excuses, but if I am buying it for 'research' purposes for my blog then it seems rude not to eat it!  Hence today's Valentine Gift Envelope containing guess what????.....chocolate!!

Chocolate Gift Envelope

I have again used a favourite stamp set of mine at the moment - My Favourite Things 'Ewe Are The Best' to make this little gift envelope.  It is just the right size to fit a bar of Lindt Lindor or Green & Black's chocolate inside.

My Favourite Things Ewe Are The Best

I did buy a bar of Green & Black's Butterscotch chocolate to 'research' this project but I have hidden it away from my husband who would demolish it in no time given the chance, hence no picture here of it.  He occasionally looks at the photos of my blog posts but not the text!!  I can guarantee though that the one chocolate he would NEVER eat is salted caramel, which is one of my favourites!

Have a lovely weekend wherever in the world you are.

Valentine Gift Box

The theme for the Design Team at Papermilldirect this week is Valentine Gift Boxes and I wanted to make something a bit more girly than I usually make and can be made without any special equipment.

Gift Box for Valentine's Day

I made the box using a sheet of Ivory Smooth Card which I cut out and scored by hand.

I then cut out some circles in Baby Pink, Raspberry Pink & Mocha Brown card and cut them in spirals which I then wound around a pair of tweezers to make the flowers &  hot glued them onto a heart that I had cut out.  You can use any glue but I find using my glue gun holds the flowers in place better as the glue is stronger and dries quicker although I always manage to get hot glue on my fingers....ouch!

I then stuck stuck some ribbon so that the box can be opened without pulling it all off.  I stamped the tag which is from Papertrey Ink called 'Do me a Favour' and added a sentiment, also from Papertrey Ink.

Birthday Shaker Card - WPlus9 Unforgettable

For today's post I have made another shaker card - the second one I have made and this time I used WPlus9 'Unforgettable' stamp set.

WPLus 9 Unforgettable Birthday Shaker Card

I also used my WRMK Fuse Tool that I got for Christmas.  I first cut 2 circles out of acetate to make the shaker but when it came to fusing the two pieces together, I found it fiddly running the tool around the circle edge so I binned that idea and made a square shaker which was really easy to fuse together.  It does take a bit of time to get used to work out the amount of speed and pressure to use but I love this tool!!

I ordered some Shaker Sequins from Lucy's Cards last week and they arrived really quickly.  Lucy has some gorgeous colours and I will definitely be ordering some more.  The ones I used here are called 'Frosted Cupcake' and there is a link to the shop at the bottom of the page.

Another product that I bought recently is a roll of Foam Pads by Affix It Craft.  I was going to buy the Scotch double sided foam tape to use on my cards but as it is quite expensive (although it does last for ages) I thought I would try the Affix It pads first.  Although they are individual pads, because they are on a roll you can use them as one long strip and cut them where you want so they are ideal for shaker cards where you need a bit of height to attach the front of the card to the base.

Valentine Shaker Card Snail Mail

Hello.  I have another valentine card for you today but this one is a shaker card.  It's the first shaker card I have made.  I've seen them all over the internet and decided to have a go.  I didn't have any sequins but I did have some silver and gold shapes that were in a balloon box I got for my birthday and I knew they would come in handy!!

Lettering Delights Nancy's Valentine Day

I have used Lettering Delights Nancy's Valentine's Day GS.  LD have a sale on at the moment so I snapped it up at $0.75 (reduced from $3.00).  Although this is a Graphic Set, I made a cut file using my Silhouette Cameo software so that I could attach the head to the shaker part of the card.

I added some hearts to the snail and die cut some grass using MFT Grassy Fields and added a heart to the front of the acetate.

For the inside of the card I printed out the graphic as it comes from LD but rubbed out the 'special delivery' sentiment and put 'happy valentine' around the shell instead.

Embossed Vellum & Daisies Papermilldirect Design Team

Hello.  The theme this week for the Papermilldirect Design Team Blog is embossing and so I have used some vellum which is something I don't often use but it gives a great look when you emboss it.

Embossed vellum on a card

I ran the vellum through my Big Shot in an embossing folder by Stampin' Up! and then added some yellow flower centres using a Copic marker.

I adhered this to a Papermilldirect White Linen card layer which I also embossed using a die from My Favourite Things to make some wonky stitching lines.

Card made using embossed vellum

The white flowers were cut out using a retired Sizzix Bigz die by Stampin' Up! called Blossom Party and then the sentiment was stamped on top with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

And before I go, just to let you know that Papermilldirect are having a flash sale on their Pick & Mix boxes of card.  You can SAVE 15% off the price and this offer lasts until 5pm today, Wednesday 20th.  Click HERE to go to the website.

Thanks for stopping by.
