Watercolour Valentine Card & Matching Gift Tag

As part of Papermilldirect's Design Team, the project for this week was to come up with a Valentine project that required no special cutting tools.  I also decided that I wanted to create a card that can be made without hardly any crafting materials.

It was hard work but I eventually came up with this card and matching gift tag that only used scissors, glue and a dye ink pad refill....oh and a bit of water.

Matching Watercolour Valentine Card and Gift Tag

I thought I would try out Papermilldirect's White Hammered Card to see if it would take a bit of watercolouring and I am really pleased with how well it worked.

I painted the heart freehand using some dye ink refills mixed with a bit of water and then applied it to the card that I had wetted ever so slightly so it would blend better.  I only used 2 colours of ink and they are Stampin' Up!'s Strawberry Slush and Daffodil Delight.

Once the ink had dried, I cut out the heart, added some faux stitch lines with a black pen and then stamped a sentiment using WMS 'Say it Loud' stamps.

The tag was also cut by hand and the sentiment is again by Waltzing Mouse Stamps and is called Gift Card It.  Product links are shown below.

If you read by blog post last Friday about how I have to hide chocolate from my husband, I have an update for you.  Just before Christmas we were given a big box of chocolate biscuits by my lovely mother-in-law to SHARE.  Well needless to say, I only had 4 out of about 30 of those biscuits.  I was relating this fact to her a week or so ago and bless her - she went out and bought us another box to SHARE!  I work with my husband and we share an office.  Last week I went down with a really nasty flu bug and spent a couple of days in bed.  He had to go away for one of those days to meetings in Cambridge and as there was some urgent work that had to be done, I dragged myself off to the office and discovered that he had eaten all the biscuits bar 6 of them.  So I hid them before heading back home and back to bed.  Well he found them the next day and ate them all!!!!

Any suggestions?!!!!!
