Vintage Merry Christmas

I've not had much time lately to do any crafting but I managed to squeeze in a couple of hours this weekend to make a card for this week's Less is More Challenge which is VINTAGE.

I struggled with this and quite a few attempts ended up in the bin, but I eventually came up with this card.  I noticed that a lot of pink was used on ye olde Christmas cards so that is what I went with.

I did some watercolouring to create the background and also on the mittens which are from MFT 'Cool Day' and fussy cut them out.

I cut out the word Merry using my Silhouette Cameo and stamped the 'Christmas' below and then adhered the front to a matching pink card base.

Of course I had to add some dots and stripes to the mittens but that was it.  A really quick card to make although the time it took to get there was waaaayyy longer than I wanted.

So here is the card I made before this one which I didn't throw in the bin but I'm still not sure I like it.

And I won't even show you the card that ended up in the bin although my husbean said he liked it....no accounting for taste I suppose!! :-)

  1. Wow, two fab cards Wendy! I love the sweet mittens and soft pinks and blues of the first card, and the second card just took my breath away - one I wish I'd come up with myself! The brown shading on the blue letting is spot on, and those little "aged" splatters and the postcard backdrop... perfect. Thanks so much for playing along with us at Less is More :)

  3. Two brilliant cards, Wendy. I love those cute little mittens on the blue backdrop, so sweet. And your postcard design is wonderfully executed. I love the ageing you achieved here, and the colours look fantastic.
