Llama Love

Have you noticed an animal theme going on with my cards?....I love all the cute critters that are being released by stamp companies at the moment so when  I saw a card on Instagram by Rebekah Weckerley that used this stamp set and die combo by Taylored Expressions called Llama Love, it went straight onto my wish list and then oops....it accidentally got put into my basket online!!

Isn't that llama cute?!!  He comes with 4 different faces and I love his expression on the one I used!
Rather than colouring him completely with copics, I just coloured his ears, face and legs and then used some Liquid Applique for the main body.  I don't know how many times I use Liquid Applique but I always forget to die cut first and then apply otherwise the fluffiness gets squished when it goes through my Big Shot!!
I wanted to create a scene for him to stand in but didn't have anything appropriate so I drew the rocks and cactus freehand and then coloured those in with copics.

The hot sunny background was created using Distress Inks (Spiced Marmalade and Mustard Seed) onto some Bristol Smooth card....love how easily it blends on this card.
A few splatters of Black Soot Distress Ink and the card was finished.  Hope you like it.

I am entering this into the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - the theme of which is Transportation.  Llamas are still used as a means of transport in Peru so I think I can scrape this one into that category!!!

Toodles for now noodles,

  1. Great card, Wendy. I've never used (or heard of) liquid applique, but the effect you've created is perfect. xx

  2. Wendy, this is so adorable. I like the use of the liquid applique on this little guy. Great coloring.

  3. What an adorable card, Wendy! I love the texture you added to the alpaca and the sunny background is beautiful. Thanks for joining us on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge.

  4. Drew the rocks and cactus??????? Blimey they are fabulous and so is the card, such fun with texture on the Alpaca and the parcels on his back. Love it.

I love to get comments on my blog so thank you for taking the time to say hello! Wendy x
