Hello there. Today I am really chuffed to be the Guest Designer over at CASology after winning their challenge a couple of weeks ago with this card which you can see HERE.
So the theme for this week #239 is:-
Well I have to say I struggled with this theme. I don't have any landmark stamps, I deliberated over whether a birthday or retirement could be a landmark event and then eventually after a few days of me asking my husband things like 'is a new baby a landmark event?' and him rolling his eyes each time, I made a 'landmark' decision and came up with this card which is meant to be Giza in Egypt!
I have been to Egypt before and absolutely loved the history and architecture there so images of pyramids kept popping into my head. As I didn't have any suitable stamps, I just hand cut 3 pyramids and a palm tree out of some black card and layered them onto a distress inked background. Simples-but I think it works!
I cut out the front panel using a Rectangle Peek a Boo window die by My Favorite Things and the sentiment is by Papertrey Ink and is called Big and Bold Wishes.
I did think about printing a sentiment that read 'Happy Birthday to a Diamond Giza'!!
Anyway, hop on over to the CASology Challenge to see what the talented Design Team have created and maybe have a go at entering this challenge - I think it's a tough one (especially as it doesn't involve any cute animals!).
Congrats on your Guest Designer spot, Wendy! Your card is gorgeous...love your blended background and the silhouettes are so striking!
