April Fool's Boo-Boo Hop & NBUS Challenge #11

Hello there.  Today I am sneaking a card into Darnell's 2nd Annual April Fool's Boo-Boo Hop & NBUS (Never Before Used Shtuff) Challenge.
I make A LOT of  bloopers on cards but they go straight into the bin along with me telling myself how stupid I am and that I should concentrate on what I am doing rather than being nosey and people watching out of my daft (craft) room window!!
So this card is made with a set of stamps that I won recently.  It is called Kathryn's Big Wishes - Dee's Artsy Impressions and is from Stamplorations.

I coloured the images using Copic markers and die cut using the matching dies.
I created the background by die cutting a cloud from Mama Elephant Landscape Trio and then sponging some distress ink over the top so I got a soft cloud effect.  I then cut two more clouds out using the same die and layered them on top.

I heat embossed the sentiment along with the white splodges on the balloon and then cut it all out using WPlus9 Sunshine Layers die to create the scalloped card front.
Now I very nearly did make a blooper because I stuck all the bits on the card and then realised that I hadn't stamped the balloon string - eek!  Yikes!  That meant I had to freehand it using a pen!  Now if you told me to draw a line on a bit of scrap paper, that would not be a problem but knowing that I had to draw it on a finished card....my hand was shaking with nerves!!  I managed it though!!
And there is more one NBUS thing I have used today and that is.....I went MANUAL on my camera!!!!  (No, not MANUEL from Fawlty Towers, although my camera skills are probably about on a par with his!).  I didn't have a Scooby what I was doing but I actually think there is an improvement.  I twiddled about a bit with dials and nobody shouted 'Put the camera down Wendy and step away from it'!!!!!!!!!!
Hop on over to Darnell's challenge - there are some funny bloopers as well as some amazing cards.

  1. A super card Wendy, a pretty image and lovely cloudy background.
I've not been brave enough to go manual on my camera - I keep saying that I will get the instructions out and give it a go but never have time!

  2. Another really lovely card, Wendy. Love the soft clouds xx

  3. A very pretty card. I love the soft and puffy clouds. Your coloring is fabulous.

  4. Why is it always the cards that we took a lot of time with, that we are so pleased with, that the very last thing we do ... yikes! But in this case, no worries, your balloon string looks like it was stamped! The nice thing about balloon strings is that they don't have to be straight! Your card is really colorful and adorable, Wendy! Well done you for winning the goodies, and high tens for using them! And for taking great photos!! Thank you so much for joining in the Hop and NBUS Challenge #11! I appreciate the shoutout! Hugs, Darnell

  5. Your colouring as always is fabulous, LOVE the card and the string LOL.
    Thanks for the lovely comments

  6. So glad it all worked out for you in the end as this is a cute and adorable design. Love the little girl holding her balloon and I am so happy your hand did not shake when drawing the string on it. I am sure I would have really messed it up if it were me.

I love to get comments on my blog so thank you for taking the time to say hello! Wendy x
