Sometimes Simples is Better

Sometimes a simple and quick card can turn out so much better than one I have faffed about with and this card was one that needed to be done quick as I didn't have much time this weekend.

I am entering it into this week's Less is More Challenge which is

All sorts of ideas were whirring through my head but in the end I went for the simple approach.

I must apologise for the blue'ish tint in my photos.  I am trying to learn to use the Manual mode on my camera and I have changed something on it over the weekend that has given them this odd colour!!  I am working on what it is...otherwise I shall have to ask my husbean!

Less is More Challenge #325 Stripes

I used an old die by Clearly Besotted 'Shaker Shapes Circle Hooray' to cut out the circle from the front panel of the card which I had die cut using Lil' inker Stitched Rectangles and backed it with some pale grey striped card.

I coloured the little dog from MFT 'Up In The Air' with Zigs and popped him up and the card front on some foam tape.

The sentiment banner was stamped with Lawn Fawn Sunflower Ink using a banner from their Bannertastic stamp set and die cut with the matching die.  The actual sentiment is from CB Happy Birthday.

LIM Challenge #325 Stripes

I can't wait for Clearly Besotted to re-open again, which hopefully will be soon.  I love CB stamps and dies.  Apparently they are waiting for good ol' BT to connect their broadband.  Don't get me started on BT!! Grrrrr.

On another note, my husbean needed a temporary fix until a spare part arrived for something he was fixing.  The original was made out of some sort of plastic but it had torn.  So he showed it to me and I told him to leave it with me although I was right in the middle of making this card!

I fired up the Silhouette Cameo and scanned the part into the software and then created a trace and then cut it out on acetate.  It worked brilliantly and I think he actually now believes that my Cameo was well worth the money but also agreeing how clever I was....which trust me...he doesn't usually do!! :-)  Only joking!

Hop on over to the LIM Challenge - the design team and guest designer have come up with some gorgeous cards this week.

Toodles for now,
