Up In The Air

Hello there.  I managed to make just ONE card this weekend as the weather has been GORJUSS and I spent Saturday out in the garden ripping up all the weeds that had taken over the beds during the Winter and cleaning out the bird baths etc.   But I got some time late Sunday afternoon to make a card to enter into this week's Less is More Challenge which is.....

http://simplylessismoore.blogspot.co.uk/2017/04/challenge-323-curve.html
Yes it is the dreaded one layer card and with a 'curve'.  I find one layer cards very challenging particularly so because if you make an oopsie you can't stick something over the top!

Anyway here is my one layer with a curve (the grass hill).

My Favorite Things Up In The Air stamps

I have used the new stamp set by MFT 'Up In The Air'.  I wasn't going to buy anything new this month (yes Wendy we've heard you say that before...every month in fact!) but when I saw the cute critters in this set I gave in!!

I started off by masking off the card to create the hill.  I used Mustard Seed and Peeled Paint distress inks.

As this had to be one layer I stamped the bear's head onto the card and then used masking paper to cover him up so I could stamp the balloon over the top....phew that was a tense moment but it worked out okay!

I then coloured it all in using Copic markers, added some clouds and a sentiment from the same set and sat back and relaxed knowing I hadn't made a boo boo and I could enter it into the challenge!

Sorry about the lack of photos but the light was fading fast by the time I had finished.

Head on over to the LIM Challenge as the design team always come up with some amazing cards and this week is no exception....I shall definitely be CASE'ing some of them!

  1. Gorgeous card! I fell in love with that set too, but having already been naughty with some other sets I had to sit on my hands!!! Fab stamping, so neat and a great use of masking. The colours are beautiful too, so warm and vivid. Awesome card! Thanks for playing along with us at Less is More :)

  6. Well, you've masked that little bear perfectly, it looks like one complete stamp. Fab colouring as always and what a great colour blend for your grass hill, would never think to use those two together for grass but it works brilliantly.

Anyway, your little scene is so cute and the hill is not the only curve you have, there's also curves on your balloon and clouds, no ? Great masking and colourful as desired ! Thanks for sharing and for inspiring.
